Researchers in New Mexico study ways to store hydrogen

 

If the U.S. moves ahead with development of hydrogen as an energy source, there’s a major question of how to store it.

Research is underway in New Mexico at the Sandia National Laboratories into examining the use of abandoned natural gas and oil fields to store hydroden underground.

The labs, located in Albuquerque have partnered with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Subsurface Hydrogen Assessment, Storage and Technology Acceleration project.
