Crude oil prices suffered another drop in Thursday’s trading as they fell more than 3%. Observers blamed growing COVID-19 cases in China along with increased concern that U.S. interest rates will be raised again.
West Texas Intermediate crude for December delivery plunged $3.95 a barrel or nearly 5% to settle at $81.64 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for delivery in January dropped about 3% or $3.08 to finish the day at $89.78 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
