Compromise legislation in Missouri to save Grain Belt Express

The governor of Missouri says he will sign legislation that will keep alive the proposed Grain Belt wind-power transmission line across his state—a line to carry wind-powered electricity from southwest Kansas to Indiana.

The legislation is a compromise that will require landowners to be paid 150% of fair market value for land taken through eminent domain for electric transmission projects reported the Missouri Independent.
