Crude oil prices gained while natural gas fell in Friday’s trading

Investors await Monday’s trading to see if crude oil prices might continue their gain following Friday’s 2% increase for prices. The increase came as traders waited on an OPEC+ decision on  second quarter supply agreements. At the same time, natural gas prices in the US continued their slow tumble downward.

US prices, West Texas Intermediate, rose $1.71 or 2.19% on the New York Mercantile Exchange and closed at $79.97….just a few pennies short of $80 a barrel.

Brent crude, the global benchmark, went up $1.64 or 2% and closed at $83.55 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

April natural gas fell 2 cents to $1.84 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Oklahoma energy stocks ended the week on a mixed day of trading with a 4% loss for Empire Petroleum but a 3% gain for Mammoth Energy.

Many other energy stocks recorded gains in Friday’s trading, according to the Texas Energy Report.

EOG Resources (EOG) up 1.64 at 116.10 – change 1.43%

Exxon Mobil (XOM) up 1.32 at 105.84 – change 1.26%

Kinder Morgan (KMI) up 0.07 at 17.46 – change 0.40%

Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) up 0.35 at 24.60 – change 1.44%

NOV Inc. (NOV) up 0.20 at 17.10 – change 1.18%

Occidental Petroleum (OXY) up 0.75 at 61.36 – change 1.23%

Phillips 66 (PSX) up 1.69 at 144.19 – change 1.18%

Pioneer Natural Resources (PXD) up 4.63 at 237.27 – change 1.99%

Tellurian Inc. (TELL) down 0.03 at 0.76 – change 3.36%

Valero (VLO) up 1.82 at 143.28 – change 1.28%
