Crude recorded gains on Wednesday but natural gas made another drop

Crude oil recorded another gain on Wednesday but natural gas prices in the U.S. slid again.
Crude managed a nearly 1% increase on a smaller-than-expected increase in U.S. crude inventories, including those at Oklahoma’s Cushing Hub. A big withdrawal of distillate and gasoline stocks also played a role in sending prices up.
West Texas Intermediate crude in the U.S. rose 98 cents or 1.3% to settle at $79.13 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Brent crude, considered the global benchmark, gained 92 cents or 1.1% and finished at $82.96 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
April natural gas fell 3 cents to $1.93 per 1,000 cubic feet.
When it comes to the performance of Oklahoma energy stocks, some gained on Wednesday while others lost. For instance, Mammoth Energy fell 5% while Matrix Service Co. gained 5%.
