As ONE Gas indicated this week, its affiliate Kansas Gas Service wants the approval of regulators in Kansas for a $93.1 million rate hike.
If approved, the firm’s 650,000 customers would pay an average of nearly $10 more a month, at least for residential bills. Hearings by the Kansas Corporation Commission will be held in June in Topeka and Wichita with a decision expected in October.
As the Kansas Reflector reported, if approved, the average increase for residential customers using lower volumes of natural gas would be $6.71 a month while those customers with higher usage rates would pay $9.48 more a month.
