Lack of rain grows in Oklahoma Panhandle

When it comes to a lack of rainfall, there’s dry, then there’s dry and dryer. Just ask the people in the Oklahoma Panhandle cities of Goodwell and Hooker.

State Climatologist Gary McManus reported Monday that it had been 132 days since either place received at least a quarter-inch of rain in a single day.

He wrote about it under the heading, “The Dry and the Furious.”
