Little change in Thursday’s crude oil prices but natural gas dropped again

Thursday’s trading brought little price changes for crude oil but natural gas took another big drop.

Crude prices stayed mostly the same as new economic data from China was being studied by investors.

West Texas Intermediate crude fell 20 cents a barrel and closed at $78.93 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Brent crude, considered the global benchmark, was unchanged at $82.96 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

April natural gas fell 11 cents to $1.82 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Thursday was a day of gains for most Oklahoma energy stocks including Helmerich & Payne with a 3% increase and SandRidge Energy a more than 4% jump.

Other energy stocks recorded gains on Thursday, according to the Texas Energy Report.

EOG Resources (EOG) up 1.36 at 117.85 – change 1.16%

Exxon Mobil (XOM) up 0.60 at 107.37 – change 0.56%

Kinder Morgan (KMI) up 0.05 at 17.87 – change 0.28%

Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) up 0.14 at 24.66 – change 0.57%

NOV Inc. (NOV) up 0.43 at 17.67 – change 2.49%

Occidental Petroleum (OXY) up 0.18 at 61.05 – change 0.29%

Phillips 66 (PSX) up 2.44 at 149.21 – change 1.66%

Pioneer Natural Resources (PXD) up 1.32 at 241.38 – change 0.54%

Tellurian Inc. (TELL) down 0.06 at 0.81 – change 6.85%

Valero (VLO) up 4.59 at 149.03 – change 3.17%
