Texas regulators want lawsuit challenging tiny lizard’s endangered status

The tiny sagebrush lizard we’ve been telling you about and how it’s affected oil and gas operators in the Permian Basin of West Texas and New Mexico is at the center of the latest fight with the federal government.

Now the Texas Railroad Commission, akin to the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, has voted to fight the May decision by the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service to list the lizard as endangered.

The matter rests in the hands of the Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton who will decide if indeed, he will file suit, according to a report by the Houston Chronicle’s Fuel Fix.

The paper reported it was a unanimous decision by the Railroad Commission.
