Williams wins Louisiana court ruling in gas pipeline fight with Energy Transfer LP

A District Court in Louisiana handed a court victory to Tulsa-based Williams Cos. in a battle with Energy Transfer LP.
The Dallas company had attempted to stop Williams from building a natural gas pipeline across its own line. But the 42nd Judicial District Court of DeSoto Parish ruled against Energy Transfer on Wednesday.
The fight was part of the Louisiana Energy Gateway project by Williams as it attempts to transfer gas from the Haynesville shale basin to the Gulf Coast.
Financial Post reported the court made one waiver in the matter—and that is “Energy Transfer can block Williams from excavating to install pipelines using the open-cut method, in which the company would dig a trench to lay each piece of pipe.”
