Utilities defend their high costs in Colorado

Colorado legislators exploring the high cost of utilities were told this week colder winters are to blame in part for inflated utility bills, not higher base rates and fees charged to customers.

The defense of profits and rates for electricity and gas came from representatives of Excel Energy and Black Hills who appeared before the legislative committee headed by Senate President Steve Fenberg reported Axios Denver.
